Professional Workshops and Training
Neurodiversity Training, Workshops & Professional Development
Practical. Neurodiversity-Affirming. Informed by Professional Knowledge and Lived Experience.
Understanding neurodivergence requires more than knowing a list of diagnostic traits.
It means understanding how a neurodivergent person experiences the world, what may be happening beneath the presentation we see, and how our environments, expectations and communication can either create or reduce barriers.
I provide engaging, practical and neurodiversity-affirming training for schools, education settings, parent/carer groups, charities, health and social care services, workplaces, businesses and professional organisations.
Training can be delivered online or in person and can be adapted to the needs, knowledge and experience of your organisation or group.
My aim is not for people to leave simply knowing more about neurodiversity.
I want them to leave asking:
“What can we do differently?”
Neurodiversity Awareness & Understanding
Ideal for organisations, schools or teams wanting to develop a strong foundation in neurodiversity.
Training can include:
Understanding Neurodiversity
An introduction to neurodiversity and different neurodivergent profiles, moving beyond stereotypes and deficit-based assumptions.
Understanding Autism
Exploring Autistic communication, sensory processing, predictability, emotional regulation, executive functioning, social differences, masking and individual presentation.
Understanding ADHD
Understanding ADHD beyond attention and hyperactivity, including executive functioning, motivation, dopamine, emotional regulation, time blindness, task initiation, hyperfocus and impulsivity.
Understanding AuDHD
Exploring the interaction between Autism and ADHD and the sometimes contradictory needs experienced by people with an AuDHD profile.
Neurodiversity: Beyond the Diagnosis
Looking beyond diagnostic labels to understand the individual combination of sensory, communication, emotional, executive functioning and regulation needs.
Masking, Burnout & Hidden Neurodivergence
When Looking Like You’re Coping Doesn’t Mean That You Are
Masking is frequently missed in children and adults, particularly where someone is academically capable, verbally articulate or able to function within structured environments.
Training can include:
Understanding Neurodivergent Masking
Recognising conscious and unconscious masking, camouflaging and compensatory strategies.
Masking in Children & Young People
Why a child can appear to cope in school and experience significant dysregulation at home.
Masking in Adults
Exploring the long-term impact of hiding neurodivergent needs within employment, relationships and everyday life.
Neurodivergent Burnout
Understanding chronic overwhelm, reduced functioning, loss of skills, exhaustion and the importance of reducing demands and increasing appropriate support.
Late-Identified Autism & ADHD
Understanding why some individuals reach adolescence or adulthood without their neurodivergence being recognised.
Sensory Processing Training
Understanding the Sensory World
Sensory processing can have a profound impact on learning, communication, behaviour, emotional regulation, work and everyday life.

Developing Individual Regulation Strategies
The emphasis is on understanding regulation rather than expecting someone simply to control their behaviour.
Behaviour as Communication
Looking Beneath the Behaviour
Behaviour doesn’t happen in isolation.
When a neurodivergent child or adult is distressed, overwhelmed or dysregulated, the behaviour we see may be communicating something that they cannot easily communicate another way.

The focus is always on asking:
“What might this behaviour be communicating?”
rather than simply:
“How do we stop it?”
Executive Functioning & ADHD

Bespoke Training
Your Organisation Doesn’t Have to Fit Into One of These Titles
Some of the most effective training I deliver is developed specifically around the needs of an organisation, setting or group.
For example, you may want a session combining:
Autism + ADHD + Sensory Processing
or:
Masking + Mental Health + Burnout
or:
Communication + Behaviour + Demand Avoidance
or:
ADHD + Executive Functioning + Workplace Adjustments.
I can work with you to understand the challenges your organisation is experiencing and create training that is relevant to the people in the room.
Training That Goes Beyond Awareness
I don’t believe effective neurodiversity training should simply provide a list of diagnostic characteristics.
People need to understand what those differences can look and feel like in real life.
My training combines professional knowledge, specialist practice and lived experience as an Autistic and ADHD woman and parent of neurodivergent children.
Sessions are designed to be:
Informative
Engaging
Practical
Neurodiversity-affirming
Accessible
Relevant to everyday situations
and, most importantly,
useful after the training has finished.
Participants should leave with greater understanding and practical ideas they can actually implement.
Training Delivery
Training can be provided:
Online
In person
As a short awareness session
As a half-day workshop
As a full-day workshop
As part of an ongoing training programme
As bespoke consultancy and training
Sessions can be adapted for different levels of professional knowledge and tailored to the needs of your organisation.
Who Can Book Training?
I work with:
Schools, colleges and education settings
Parent Carer Forums
Charities and community organisations

If you aren’t sure whether I can provide the training you’re looking for, please get in touch.
Let’s Create Training That Makes a Difference
Whether you are looking for a one-off workshop, staff development day, parent/carer session, workplace training or a longer neuroinclusion programme, training can be tailored around your organisation and the people you support.
Different brains need different approaches.
Understanding those differences is where meaningful inclusion begins.
